The official Black Ops 2 Zombies reveal trailer has just been released and is now available for everyone to see, check it out below:
As announced previously, the new Zombies mode in Black Ops 2 is built on the games multiplayer engine. This allows for more players in one gaming session and also provides the following improvements:
Stats Tracking: Like with the vanilla version of the game, the Zombies mode will get extensive stats.
Matchmaking
Faster: Since the Zombies mode uses the multiplayer system, the game will be able to match up players faster than before.
Accurate: Each players stats are tracked, thus the game will try to match each players skill level as much as possible. This means less skilled players won't be joining in with "pro" players and frustrate them.
Players can still join and play with friends with any skill level as they please.
Leaderboards: Each mode has its own leaderboard and can also be broken down in many ways, like ranking based on maps.
Custom Games: Players can create their own custom games. Everything can be changed and fine tuned, for example, the weapons available at the start of the round, turn perks on/off, or add challenges like "Headshots Only".
There will be multiple Zombie modes available when the game ships, but for now Treyarch has released information on 3 of them:
Survival: Resembles the classic zombie mode where you and your 3 teammates fortify your location and hold out as long as possible from the zombies. The mode can also be played solo.
Grief: Available for up to 8 players thanks to the new multiplayer engine. The players are split into 2 human teams.
Same concept as in "Survival", except it's humans vs. humans vs. zombies - the last team standing wins the match.
Zombies will attack both human teams, but the teams can't directly attack each other.
The gaming world, however, can be used against the other team. For example, teams can try to block the other team's path to cause as much "grief" as possible.
Tranzit: Players get to explore a big, expansive open world on foot or via the bus as featured in the Zombies trailer above.
The bus provides tactical advantages, such as speed, but it isolates players.
If players go on foot, they are in big danger, but it also has its perks.
While exploring, players will be able to collect pieces of different items that can be put together. This allows the creation of weapons, tools and other things that open new areas in the world.
Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC. Multiplayer is available on Xbox LIVE (Xbox 360), PSN (PS3) and Steam. Xbox LIVE requires Gold Membership.
COD: Black Ops III
The next Call of Duty game is Black Ops 3 and it will be released on November 6 on current and previous generation consoles. Treyarch's new black ops 3 game features all new weapons, perks, scorestreaks and maps.
